Service Details

Survive are a specialist sexual violence organisation based in York. Survive work in a therapeutic way, putting the client at the centre, empowering them to make decisions about their needs and recovery. Survive work closely with other services throughout York to ensure that client receive a multi-disciplinary approach and robust care to aid well-being.

  • Counselling – specialist 1:1 counselling for SV Survivors
  • 1:1 – emotional and advocacy support from our office in York
  • Helpline – Wed 13:00 – 15:30 supportive helpline
  • Coffee morning – Monday morning weekly coffee morning for women
  • Male support group – Bi-weekly support group for men, Monday evening
  • Book loan – loan our specialist book focused on issues for Survivors for up to 1 month
  • Training – training packages for professionals
  • Awareness – promoting the rights of Survivors
  • Information and advice – for clients and professionals

Survive raise awareness in the community of the stigma and hardships facing Survivors of rape. They also work closely to train partners to ensure they can give Survivors the correct information and common barriers are avoided so that Survivors can access the correct services easily and early on in their journey.

Referral Criteria

Survive accept self-referrals for men and women 18+.
